RAILWAY WAGON FOR TRANSPORTATION OF SEMIREMOLKS ANDCONTAINERS Technical sector
The present invention is related to freight transport wagons that are used in the railway sector, proposing a railroad car of a simple structural embodiment that allows the safe transport of truck semi-trailers and containers with an optimized consumption of the energy needed to propel the car, while facilitating loading and unloading operations. State of the art
The rail freight transport system, and more specifically the transport of truck and container semi-trailers has been used in most European Union countries for several decades to the present, because the cost of transport in long distances and the amount of emissions of polluting gases into the atmosphere.
At present, there are different types of wagons for the transport of semi-trailers and containers. One of the most used and known options for loading and unloading semi-trailers is based on the use of wagons that have a pivoting platform with respect to the longitudinal axis of the car. In one solution, the platform has a permanent pivoting joint to the center of the longitudinal axis of the car and separable joints with the ends of the car, so that for loading and unloading of semi-trailers the platform is decoupled from the ends of the car and pivots with respect to the longitudinal axis to locate an oblique position that allows loading and unloading the semi-trailers on the platform frontally. In another solution the platform has a permanent pivotal joint to the center of the longitudinal axis of one end of the car and a separable connection with the opposite end, so that the platform pivots with respect to one end of the car, loading and unloading of the semi-trailers. analogously. Examples of this type of wagon with pivoting platform is known from EP0584026A1
or document ES-2243517T3.
These wagons with pivoting platforms require complex mechanical and hydraulic systems to swing the car. In addition, to allow the transfer of the semi-trailers it is necessary that the surface of the platform is at the level of the loading / unloading dock, which requires complex lifting and lowering systems to level the surface between both elements.
Another solution for loading and unloading of semi-trailers is that shown by document ES2297821T3, which describes a railway car with a conventional car structure that has a front part with a first bogie, a rear part with a second bogie, and a part intermediate consisting of two lateral longitudinal stringers that join the front with the rear. The lateral longitudinal stringers have anchors for coupling a removable platform on which the semi-trailer without a tractor unit is loaded.
With this solution, by means of a crane system or similar, the wagon platform can be decoupled to place it at ground level and so that the truck can arrange the semi-trailer on the platform, so that it does not require complex pivoting platforms or complicated and expensive systems of elevation. However, this solution employs a conventional carriage structure that can circulate on its own track, and on which the platform itself is arranged, so that the platform is an external assembly to the car that is not part of its structure , thus adding more cargo to the car and consequently increasing the energy consumption necessary to carry out its transport. In addition, the set is not valid for the transport of containers of different dimensions, since it does not have the standardized fixings for this modality and is not structurally prepared to accommodate this type of intermodal transport units, so it is only for the transport of semi-trailers . Object of the invention
The invention relates to a railroad car for the transport of truck semi-trailers and containers.
The railway car has a car structure that includes:- a front part with a first bogie,- a backside with a second bogie,
- an intermediate part that joins the front part with the rear part, and - a structural platform to receive a semi-trailer or a container.
The intermediate part consists of a central structure that extends along the central longitudinal axis of the car connecting the front part with the rear part of the car. The structural platform has at both ends coupling means to establish a removable union of the structural platform with the front and the back of the car.
In this way, the structural platform that carries the semi-trailer or the container is an integral part of the wagon structure, resulting in the structural platform necessary to establish a secure connection between the front and the rear part of the wagon during the circulation of the rail car, since the intermediate part only holds the front part together with the rear part, but it is not a sufficient connection to ensure the movement of the car, while when the rail car is stopped, to carry out loading and unloading operations of the semi-trailer or container, The structural platform is decoupled from the rest of the wagon structure, the extraction of the same being carried out by means of a vertical displacement with respect to the longitudinal axis of the wagon, using loading machinery.
The coupling means comprise two lateral anchor points established between the front of the car and the sides of one end of the structural platform and two other lateral anchor points established between the rear of the car and the sides of the other end of the platform structural, and a central anchor point established between the front part of the car and the central part of one end of the structural platform and another central anchor point established between the rear part of the car and the central part of the other end of the structural platform .
The lateral anchorage points comprise retention triggers defined in the structural platform and respective housings of said retention triggers defined in the front and rear of the car.
The central anchor points comprise a respective conical housing defined in the center of each end of the structural platform and a respective steel support located respectively in the front and the rear part of the car.
The structural platform comprises two lateral stringers joined together by a lower base that has a recess for fitting the intermediate part that joins the front part with the rear part of the car. The structural platform additionally comprises lateral guides for guiding the semi-trailer during loading on the structural platform.
The car additionally comprises first attachment means that can be coupled to a loading machine and / or second connection means that can be coupled to containers.
The first joining means are arranged in the lateral stringers of the structural platform. They are lugs attachable to a loading machine.
The second joining means are arranged in the lateral stringers of the structural platform and in the front and rear of the car. They have a rotating pin that can be attached to a container. The second joining means that are arranged in the structural platform have a support arm to establish a removable fixing of the joining means in the lateral stringers of the structural platform.
The front of the car is provided with a hitch configured to establish a retaining coupling with a semi-trailer bolt.
With all this, a railway car is obtained with a simple and lightened structural realization with respect to the state of the art, where the structural platform for the transport of semi-trailers and containers is an integral part of the car's own structure, with that lower energy consumption of the rail vehicle is required for transport. The invention relates to an intermodal rail car suitable for both the transport of truck semi-trailers (14) and for the transport of containers (15).
The railway car of the invention has a carriage structure comprising a front part (1) with a first rolling means (2), a rear part (3) with a second rolling means (4), an intermediate part (5) that joins the front part (1) with the rear part (3) and a structural platform (6) configured to receive a semi-trailer (14) or a container (15).
The first and second rolling means (2,4) are bogies.
The structural platform (6) is removable from the rest of the wagon structure by a vertical displacement with respect to the longitudinal axis (A) of the wagon using loading machinery such as a gantry, a crane or a large tonnage forklift.
The structural platform (6) is part of the carriage structure, so that the railway carriage is only suitable for circulation when the structural platform (6) is coupled to the front (1) and rear (3) of the car.
The intermediate part (5) that joins the front part (1) with the rear part (3) consists of a central structure of rigid material that extends along the central longitudinal axis (A) of the car. The front part (1) and the rear part (3) have respective lower extensions (7,8) being one end of the central structure (5) jointly joined to the center of the lower extension (7) of the front part (1) ) and the opposite end integral with the center of the lower extension (8) of the rear part (3).
The central structure (5) that joins the front part (1) with the rear part (3) and the lower extensions (7,8) to which the central structure (5) is connected are located between the raceway (R ) of the wagon and the load line (C), so that the central structure (5) is disposed in a position lower than the center of mass of the wagon, favoring stability in the circulation.
As shown in the embodiments of figures 7 and 9, the central structure (5) comprises two longitudinal bars that are joined together by welding by transverse tubular elements, the entire assembly forming a reticular structure that provides additional rigidity to the car in its central part. The central structure (5) is used as a passage of connections between the front (1) and rear (3) of the car.
The structural platform (6) comprises two lateral stringers (6.1) joined together by a lower base (6.2) such that they define a "U" shaped structure to receive a semi-trailer (14) or a container (15). The lower base (6.2) has a recess (6.3) in its central part for fitting the central structure (5) that joins the front part (1) with the rear part (3) of the wagon, thus avoiding unwanted displacements of the structural platform (6) during the movement of the car.
The structural platform (6) additionally comprises a lateral guides (6.4) parallel to the longitudinal axis (A) of the carriage that are configured to guide the semi-trailer (14) in the loading operations thereof on the structural platform (6).
The structural platform (6) has at both ends coupling means (9, 10) to establish a removable connection with the front part (1) and the rear part (3) of the carriage, so that during the movement of the carriage coupling means (9, 10) rigidly join the structural platform (6) with the front (1) and rear (3) parts, while when the car is stopped, to perform loading and unloading operations, the means Coupling (9, 10) are decoupled.
The coupling means (9, 10) to establish the removable connection with the front
(one) and the rear part (3) of the car comprises four lateral anchor points (9) and two central anchor points (10). See figure 1.
The lateral anchor points (9) are established between the ends of the lateral stringers (6.1) of the structural platform (6) and respectively the front (1) and rear part
(3) of the car, while the central anchor points (10) are established between the central part of each end of the structural platform (6) and respectively the front (1) and rear (3) of the car.
The lateral anchor points (9) comprise defined retention triggers at each end of the lateral stringers (6.1) of the structural platform (6) and respective housings of said defined retention triggers on the sides of the front part (1). ) and the rear part (3) of the car, this is at the ends of the lower extensions (7,8). Triggers are attached to the housings by means of a retaining bolt (not shown).
The central anchor points (10) comprise a respective conical housing defined at the center of each end of the structural platform (6) and a respective molded steel support located respectively at one end of the center of the front part (1) and the rear (3) of the car.
The railway car has first connection means (11) that can be coupled to a load machine (see figures 3, 6 and 7) to extract the structural platform (6) from the rest of the car structure when a semi-trailer (14) is transported and a few second means of union
(12) attachable to containers (15) (see figures 4, 5, 8 and 9).
As shown in the exemplary embodiment of Figures 6 and 7, the first joining means (11) are fixed on the lateral stringers (6.1) of the structural platform (6) and are a type of lugs attachable to the hook of a loading machine
As shown in the exemplary embodiment of Figures 8 and 9, the second joining means (12) are arranged in the lateral stringers (6.1) of the structural platform (6) and in the front (1) and rear ( 3) of the car and have rotating pins (12.1) ("twistlock") attachable to the corner of a container (15).
As can be seen in figure 9, the car has eight rotating pins (12.1), two on the front (1), four on the structural platform (6) and two on the rear (3), so that with that configuration of rotating pins the car can transport two 20 'containers, a 40' container, a 50 'container, or a 30' container.
Thus, for example, as shown in Figure 8, a 40 'or 50' container is disposed between the rotating pins of the front (1) and the rear (3) of the car, while two 20 'containers they are arranged respectively between the rotating pins of the front part (1) and a pair of rotating pins of the structural platform (6), and between the rotating pins of the rear part (3) and the other pair of rotating pins of the platform structural (6).
As can be seen in figure 5, the second means (12) with the rotating pins (12.1) that are arranged in the structural platform (6) have a support arm (12.2) for coupling on the lateral stringers (6.1) of the structural platform (6), so that the second means (12) are removable from the structural platform (6) when its use is not necessary.
The railway car can only incorporate the first joining means (11) as shown in the example of embodiment of figures 6 and 7, only the second joining means (12) as shown in the example of embodiment of figures 8 and 9, or it can incorporate both means at the same time.
In the front part (1) of the car there is a hook (13) configured to establish a retaining coupling with a bolt of the semi-trailer (14), commonly called sellette or fifth wheel. The hitch (13) is mounted on a translation carriage with the possibility of movement perpendicular and parallel to the longitudinal axis (A) of the car, which allows the hitch (13) to be adjusted with the semi-trailer bolt (14).
The hitch (13) could also be arranged in the rear part (3) of the car, although preferably it is arranged in the front part (1) taking into account the direction of movement of the car. The arrangement of the hitch (13) in the front part (1) of the car allows a better distribution of the forces generated by the movement of the semi-trailer (14) during the movement, since the trailer is in contact with the structure of the car in two points, which are the hitch (13) with the front part (1), and the wheels of the semi-trailer (14) with the structural platform (6). In addition, the arrangement of the hitch (13) on the front (1) of the car also allows the structural platform
(6) may have a smaller longitudinal than in the case where the hitch was located on the structural platform itself (6).
With all this, in a loading and unloading terminal the following operations are carried out for the loading of a semi-trailer (14) on the structural platform (6):
- Interlocking the first and second rolling means (2,4) by activating its parking brake.
- Manual or automatic coupling of the hooks of a loading machine to the lugs of the first joining means (11).
- Decoupling of the coupling means (9,10) and removal of the structural platform
(6) of the rest of the wagon structure by vertical elevation.
- Descent and positioning of the structural platform (6) on the floor of the loading and unloading terminal parallel to the longitudinal axis (A) of the wagon and at a minimum established distance that ensures safety conditions.
- Positioning of the truck's tractor head so that the semi-trailer (14) faces one end of the structural platform (6).
- Loading of the semi-trailer (14) on the structural platform (6) using the truck's tractor head following the lateral guides (6.4) to center the semi-trailer (14).
- Disconnection of the tractor head from the semi-trailer (14) and removal from the loading area.
- Vertical lifting of the structural tray (6) loaded with the semi-trailer (14) and lowering of the structural tray (6) to a certain distance from the hitch (13) of the front part (1) of the wagon, so that its axis longitudinal is aligned with the longitudinal axis (A) of the car.
- Longitudinal and vertical movement of coupling (13) to align with the semi-trailer bolt (13).
- Descent of the structural tray (6), activation of the coupling means (9,10) for fixing the structural tray (6) with the front (1) and rear (3) of the wagon and fixing the coupling (13 ) with the semi-trailer bolt (14).
- Unlocking the first and second rolling means (2,4) by deactivating its parking brake.
The unloading operations of the semi-trailer (14) of the car are carried out in a manner
Reverse to loading operations.
The loading operations of a container (15) on the structural platform (6) are:
- Interlocking the first and second rolling means (2,4) by activating its parking brake.
- Manual or automatic coupling of the spreader of a loading machine to its own container fixings (15).
- Vertical elevation of the container (15) to a certain height on the longitudinal axis (A) of the car.
- Descent of the container (15) and positioning on the car.
- Attachment of the container (15) to the wagon by actuating the rotating pins
(12.1) of the second joining means (12) and disengagement of the spreader of the loading machine with respect to the own bindings of the container (15).
- Unlocking the first and second rolling means (2,4) by deactivating its parking brake.
The unloading operations of the container (15) of the car are carried out in a reverse manner to the loading operations.
